TRAVELING TO PERU
VISA
When you come to Arequipa-Perú, to study Spanish, you are essentially a tourist, so no Student Visa is necessary. Citizens of many countries are given a tourist visa upon entry to Perú.
The Tourist Visa you receive upon entry will allow you 90 days in Perú. Once this expires, you extend it for a limited time within the country, paying US $ 1.00 per day. You can also cross the border into Chile or Bolivia, when. upon re-entry would be guaranteed another 90 days.
HEALTH CARE AND INSURANCE
We recommend that you take a medical examination before leaving your country and ask your doctor about the necessary vaccinations. You should protect against hepatitis, tetanus, polio, typhoid and yellow fever. If you are planning to go to the jungle, you should consider taking malaria pills.
ACI strongly encourages you to take out medical travel insurance as the cost for air transport back to your home country is expensive.
